getting a grant to start a business

    hi, fairly new to this site.
    can anyone help with some info on how to get a grant to start a lawnbiz/small engine repair shop?
    i dont want to go for a loan.
    but, in a nut shell need to get decent truck,tools etc....

    &if anyone has implements they're tossing, i.e repairables,mower,trimmer,blower,outboard motor,
    pls let me know?
    am doing home school course for repair need stuff to do hands on

    The government doesn't give out grants the way you are looking for... In order to receive free government money you need to be doing something such as... Hire people, locate your business in a targeted area, meet government contract needs etc etc... Grants are very competetive so the chances of someone telling you how they got a grant are going to be very low... If you are thinking uncle sam will fund your whole start up, you would be wrong... You would need a loan etc to get funding, might want to re look into the way government grants are funded in your area and I would start with your local Community Development Center, they will have all the details on any grants receiving funds in your neighborhood for small business etc.
