on this B&S 16 HP self propelled blower i use, after about 70 mins of run time the muffler gets red hot and begins to glow, what's up with that? the oil has been changed, and is at the right level, is it just not made for continuous use? I don't really want the thing to blow up, if i remember correctly, it is an At water product, called air-broom. any ideas? thanks guys.

did you see it at night? or is it visible in the day time also? My 10HP LW and 13HP Force both glow at night after they've been running for a while.

these new engines run so lean that it generates a lot of heat. i don't think it's anything to worry about.

That is what I was thinking. They lean them out to meet emissions. I dunno if it's nothing to worry about any time you have that much heat it can't that healthy.
