that is some pretty equipment. seeing all that green makes me anxious for spring
I love the edger. It works great. I've never had it clog with the new design. The giant debris flap works great also, never get any mud on my legs anymore.
I personally like having a dedicated piece of equipment if i use it a lot. If I were to have an extended hedge trimmer, pole pruner, and power sweeper, then I might buy a split shaft unit for those three.
Is your fs85 a solid shaft or does it have a split in the middle? Either way, if you don't use it as a trimmer very often, I would just put the edger attatchment on it. I would buy the straight shaft if you do decide on that.
Here's a close shot of the head on the edger. You can see the huge debris flap and the no-clog design.
GLS how about a picture of the duel battery setup.
nice gear man!!!!!!!!!!!
Dual battery setup.
Bought the drivers side tray from dealer and two new batteries. Hooked them up in parallel. Twice the reserve capacity.
Not shown in this pic is the new 200amp alternator. Upgraded from stock 105 amp unit. I have a pic of the two alts next to each other if anyone wants to see em.
what do you run two batts for (sorry if stupid question)
maybe your amber light?
It may be for other things such as plow, dump or spreader I think.
The main reason I run two batteries is for the plow. It sucks a lot of juice raising/angling it several times a minute. I also am running the mini lightbar on top, headlights, two rear aux. lamps and two front/side aux. lamps (not shown in pics) in addition to the heater and stereo. So that puts quite a load on the electrical system.
Very nice! I am not a Chevy man or a John Deere man but I have always admired your setup. It looks very clean, professional and very well kept. The truck is just gorgeous! Those wheels are great on it and that is my favorite Chevy body style anyway. Nice setup! The lawns in the photos look top-notch as well.
Arent you thinking about a larger trailer sometime? Looks like its big enough but crowded for extras? Does the trailer have brakes?
Things are getting very crowded on this trailer. What I would really like is an enclosed trailer (like a 8.5' x 16), but I don't really have money for one right now. If I bought a 16' open trailer, I would have to unload all of the stuff everyday. The trailer I have now gets backed into garage, just barely fits. I think I will have to make due with the trailer I have now for a while.
Trailer doesn't have brakes but I am considering adding them. We'll see what happens.
Here is a pic of the trailer at the end of last season. I have no floor space left. It is especially crammed in the fall because I have no room for blowers etc. in truck bed with leaves back there.
You can see I even have the gate tilted back so the hopper can stay on the z.
