How tall of sides are you looking to have. I built 12" sides for a 30' gooseneck I had out of metal. I used retangular tubing to fit in the stake pockets and framed the sides out of square tubing. Then used 3/16" sheet of steel to cover the sides. As for ramps...I made full ramps that folded upright. I had 2 halves because they were so heavy. I even had a winch pull the ramps up until the winch gave out.

iowapride, thanks for the info. I have 1' pipetop sides and was looking to add a foot to make a total of 2', your idea of a winch has also come to my attention. I think the gate is going need to be 5' long also so its goina be HEAVY. just looking and getting ideas to do it right the first time.

    thanks

Yes my ramps were 5' long. If you do a full ramp, I would still make 2 halves. When I had my winch, I just connected the the 2 halves together so they came up as one. Any other questions, let me know.
