i've been working for another company in this business for ten years, (doing pesticides the last 5) and i'm sick of making pennies on the dollar for my time, so i'm planning on starting my own biz this year. i have a craftsman 21" that i bought new for my lawn and 42" rider(stole it for $150). i hope to get 10 residential lawns (about $30/ea) to mow on weekends until i can pick up a commercial toro 21" (or similar). then when i get enough accaounts to replace my income from my other job ($600-700/wk) i'll quit there and put my efforts into getting a better rider. i was going to ask some questions here but i've already learned pretty much everything i wanted to know by reading on this site. so thanks everyone! if you have any comments or advice anyway i'd still be happy to listen.

btw, i WILL be licensed and insured before i mow a lawn, i've seen too many guys get nailed the last couple years for cheating the system.
