I'm going to look at 2008 61" Ferris DD Walk behind tonight. I guess it's in great shape and has roughly 50 hrs on it. He only used it one big lawn all last summer. It was bought in October of 2008 as a left over. And wasn't used til last year. He's asking $5200 obo.
With that said.... I found out that these are about $6700 brand new.(In Syracuse, NY). I'm trying to find out pricing on these models but cant find any average price for a used machine.
Does it seem like $5000 is an average price, given the condition is good?

I bought a 2008 last year. It has the 61" and 23hp Kawi. I paid $5500. brand new with 0 hours, but mine was a left behind model, it was the last of the older style before they were to get in the newer ones that have the 25hp and different control options. So I would go ahead and buy it. sounds like a goo deal, but you could probably talk him down to about $4500. if you wanted. You will like this WB! They are really big and wide arent they?!! The only thing I do not like is to engage the drive system , you must be in motion, Im used to exmark which have that neutral lock, so it does take some getting used to. Other than that, they mow great and rarely clog even with wet and tall grass! Sometimes they will stall going up a hill, but all you have to do is push down on the hydro controls, this gives it more Ummphh somehow? Its not in the manual, a friend taught me this little trick! Post some pics of it if you get it!

there are pretty beefy huh? I think this one is a 25hp. Ive been using Encore mowers for a little bit and they cut nice. Ive heard a lot of good things about ferris mowers though. Seems like they are at the top of the game in comm. mowers.

I don't know if you are interested, but you can get a snapper sw30 61" for 5199 brand new. The mower is almost the exact same as the Ferris (which I have and love) aside from no thumb control overide, no sensor grips, and instead of eaton it has hydro gear 3100 transaxle.

At Nashville Lawn Equipment in Nashville, TN they are selling them for $5900 new. They have a demo for $5400 with two year warranty.

Thanks for the info touhey. I just went to look at the ferris and it's in excellent condition. It's been garage kept and looks barely used. I'll have to get new blades and belts and get it serviced.
I'm gonna sleep on it tonight but I think I might be able to get it for 4800$. Which I think is fair.
It's a big investment for me, but it will also give me the drive to get a lot more accts.

So I bought the mower!!!! Picked it up last night and She's a tank! Got it for $4700!! Just gonna service it, grab a new set of blades and belts. I love new toys!!
