I'm 61, been doing this since 1994. Blew out my off shoulder, rotator cuff, removing bags of salt from truck bed. Not working in the winter, hurts more of my joints, than working everyday. The past 5 years, the first few days hurt, but after that, it's better everyday. Longer showers, but I can afford the utilities.
