Good Morning, Valve Closing Question

    My guess=drainage
    By code you should have a backflow preventer before master valve.
    Install pressure gauge in testcock and open. Shut off main valve and observe gauge. Even a drip will cause gauge to drop pressure within minutes.

    this arrangement happens to be PVB agaist side of house 50 feet post MV.


    PVB Bonnett "higher than chimney".

    Additional info:
    One thing I cannot be certain of is programming and acutally running of system, client claims system off for a while and i believe him, its been wetter than, its been pretty wet here. And he is a smart business man, a roofer, reputable company here so, I imagine he understands drainage some, and understands the fundamental fundamentals of the controller being off.

    But, weve all seen the controller, from all vendors, that run when they arent supposed to.,

    that makes 3 of us, probably everyone in here really.

    now I wont feel strange if i have a club sandwich now, being as there are atleast 3 of us.

    If you use only a bleed screw to open a valve, the smart money is on the old Toro design to take the longest to close.
