I am buying my first skid steer to use for hurricane Ivan clean up. I have found a used 2000 Cat 216 for $13,500.00.
It has about 1300 hours, and is a rental unit At a Cat Rental center.

My thoughts are that a Cat rental facility would also maintain it better than many individuals would.

I need to get a skid steer by end of the week.

I need specific info not brand vs. brand debate. I have also looked at Bobcat.

Thanks in advance for the help. :help:

I just went through the same thing last month, the price is about right from what I have seen in the last 2 months. Right now it's hard to find a good used skid steer, I finally got mine in Miami, good luck.Don't forget the grapple bucket it will run about $2500 & trailer will run about $3000.

The 216 is a great unit. You will not be dissapointed.

Cats are good machines. Keep in mind the 216 is a 1350 lb. rated machine... somewhat small for cleanup work. If you find yourself needing more lift, take a look into the 226 or 236 models.
