Anyone make suggestions on a good quality blower? Looking for something that will work for years, move a good amount of grass and leaves, not too heavy. Last year I went as cheap as possible, and wish I hadn't. Will consider both handheld and backpack, although handheld is probably best since my wife will want to use it as well.

    Thanks for your help.

I bought a Stihl BG85 blower last year to replace the Echo PB1000 that I bought at Home Depot. I am very satisfied with this new blower. With a side-by-side comparison in the fall blowing leaves on my lawn, it out performed the Echo. ItÂ’s easy to start and does not leave my hand fatigued after using it for an hour or two. I would give it a look if you are looking for a hand held unit.

I agree Stihl bg85 is a great machine that i use commercially. they do have a model a couple of bucks less for the homeowner but I would get the bg85. I think it is around 170 - 190.

I would suggest the Stihl BR 320 --yeah its a backpack...but its not that heavy...and its a GREAT blower.... i got the big brother to it...use it with an old GiantVac and i do all my acre+ lawns (and here in cleveland, were talking LOTS of trees)...the 320 is lighter than mine, not quite as powerful...but it'll last/take a beating and its good quality..... i've known guys who have run 'em over with their trucks (don't ask how) and no damage done....
i think the 320 runs around $250 or something, maybe a bit higher....but its just as good as a lot of the small 'push/commecial-blowers'....

I can't find the BR 320 on the stihl website (www.stihlusa.com/blowers). Is this a new model, or an older model? I haven't called my local shop yet.

The BR320 was replaced with the BR340 and normally sells for $300.00

The new model has the separated gas tank. I own last years BR320 and love it.

I have a husquavarna blower passed down twice, I believe the price was about $350, it has been a very good one, and I have never had a problem getting a cold start, especially after a long period.
