gopher interface with quickbooks

    I tried interfacing the two briefly today and got no where. I tired exporting invoices from gopher to quick books and it didn't work. How many people out there do this? If so do you have any tips? For those of you that do invoices right in quickbooks is there a way to assign a date for each time you did the service, I tired looking for this and couldn't find it there must be a way though. Also do you enter into the invoice right at the month or is there a way to do it each day. I really like how gopher works for scheduling and wish I could get it to work to import.

    Not absolutely sure I am on the right track, but each time we mow or perform any other service I enter onto the invoice along with the date. I.E. If all the customer is getting is mowing service I open one invoice for the initial time of service for the month, thereafter I merely increase the quantity and in the description column denote the date of service for each incremental entry.

    Open your invoice in QB. Click on on the Columns Tab..check the service date boxes and click OK now your invoice will have a service date column.

    thanks that helps. Is there an easy way to navigate though the invoices besides choosing next or previous to edit them each time? Also can you have it automatically fill in the current date and the rate for a given customer?

    First, the Gopher has a invoice system that will do what you need.
    But, I also use QB to do invoicing for the reason that QB goes so much farther as an accounting system. I have not found an easy way to interface the 2 other than loading customers.
    The best answer I can see for looking for invoices would be to drop customers down and hit customer detail center, go to customer and the invoice list will be under their listing.
    Or keep a sheet of paper next to the computer and when you start an invoice just jot down the # and than do a find each time.
    I have gotten to the point that most of my work is on a monthly/ year round plan so I just invoice the same each month

    thanks, great help once again. Does anyone use customer manager with quickbooks? I got this for free and just installed it. What programs are people using for scheduling? It seems easy to do the weekly ones but adding the one timmers seems to be a pain. Does anyone use a laptop in the truck? I have heard mixed reviews but thought it might be worth it to pick one up for $300 and use that. I plan to have an employee and it would be easy to keep track of hours and just enter the lawn once i finish or have him do it as we are on the way to the next job.

    look Steve, Gopher's QB integration is a f'ing joke.

    If you want absolutely PERFECT integration, purchase QXpress. I began using them this year and can not say enough good things about them. Try the demo, then do a live demo with one of the salesmen... they will answer whatever questions you have. You will not out grow this program either. By far, this is the best investment I have made this year. It saves so much time, it really isnt funny.

    Here is the way I use QuickBooks to invoice customers for my clients who bill the same customers each month:
    After I create an invoice, I go to the Edit tab and Memorize the invoice to automatically drop each month on a given day. Then each month before I print the invoices for the month, I edit the invoice template with the current month - I have the month and year on the invoices in two places. To do this, go to Lists, then Templates, choose the invoice you use, and then Edit Template.
    With this method, you only have to change the dates on the invoice template and make no changes to the individual invoices.
    If you need to change a billing amount for a given customer, just find that invoice, make the change, and memorize the invoice again. And you can always change, edit, or add to an invoice for one month, if you are doing a one time extra service. If you do not memorize the invoice after the change, the original invoice will drop the next month.
