Governor Link Length

Hi All,
I've stupidly lost the governor to carburetor link (bar?) on my Briggs&stratton 12hp 281707. I found an old post on here and marked a photograph with the part arrowed. Parts can and do take weeks to get here so I want to make a replacement. Can anybody tell me how long the link is, from the hole in the governor arm to the hole at the carburettor throttle, please?

Thanks in advance,

Roy.

Try this : rotate gov arm fully CCW.
Rotate carb throttle to fully open WOT position.
Measure the distance between holes.
If it was me, I would make one outta heavy copper wire first, and see how it works.
You might could make a two piece link so that it overlaps in the middle. Feed the two thru a crimp on butt connector, slightly crimp it. Adjust length, then put a heavy crimp and / or solder.

Many thanks BigFishfor your help; Great idea. Thanks to JoeRagMan too.
An hour after I posted my question I went to start the mower and the plastic starter bendix stripped it's teeth. Happy days, not. I'll have to wait ages for that to arrive now. The engine is 30 years old so I shouldn't be surprised I guess.

Thanks again.
