Why doesn't my Grandstand stay on hills?

I have hills I can run my 72" Kubota ZD331 on and not slide as much as this Grandstand does.

For small flat areas, I LOVE the GS. But it just doesn't work well at all on the steeper slopes that my Ferris DD would, or even what I can run my ZDs on.

    Any ideas?

... all of mine hold the hills so so well. Are the hydro's in good shape?

    It's brand new, 8 hours.

Even if I point the front end up hill, it will still slide sideways across and down the hill.

I've already had to pull it out of the ditch 2 times.

If I didn't see it myself, running it myself, I would thinking my employees are morons.

It's BY FAR the worst WB I've ever tried to run on a hill.

I've got to believe there's something wrong with the machine, but I can't figure out what it is.

Much like an airplane flies in the wind, where they're trying to go straight, but have to point the nose of the plane to the side, that's how I have to go across the sides of hills.

Even then, the rear tires will start to slip and slide down the side of the hill.

Like I said, these are hills that I can borderline do with my ZTRs, but it's even worse with the GS.

23 hp, 48" deck. 2009, all of the updates done from the shop.

I dealt directly with Toro on this unit, it was their display unit at the MN state fair last year.

Mine does just fine. Make sure they are distributing their weight on the platform correctly mine will slide when I forget to do that.

I'm not even on the platform, just walking behind it.

It's extremely quick on flat areas, even gentle slopes. I LOVE it for my smaller accounts (banks, small strip malls, etc) as the 60" ZTRs are almost too big to get around quickly without having grass everywhere.

I'm impressed with the cut, the stripe, the dispersal of clippings.

For some reason though it just wants to slide down the hill. I've tried with a full tank of fuel, then last time the tank was fairly empty.

It came within 4" of being washed on Thursday, and not by the power washer either, but the water in the drainage ditch at the bottom of the hill.

I had to get the ZD331 with a strap to pull it back up the hill.
