I have a 48 Grandstand and the solution to my throttle problems was a new cable that didnt work and then reversing the attachment at the engine. This works I guess but Im not sure that I am getting full throttle. Along with that, fast is slow and slow is fast on the console. Is this the fix? My dealer said it is and I just cant believe it.

Thanks for your email. When the issue first arose we suggested a temporary re-routing of the throttle cable, without changing the throttle lever, so the unit would achieve full throttle. Unfortunately re-routing of the throttle cable made the throttle work opposite of the decal, but it was the fastest solution to keep customers running until we could investigate the issue and test/release a permanent solution.

Now we have a permanent repair that calls for installing a new throttle lever. With the new throttle lever the throttle will move in the correct motion to the decal. Your dealer has received a service bulletin identifying the part # (117-9728) and repair procedure. Your dealer can check the engine RPM after the new throttle lever is installed to verify the engine is achieving recommended RPM. For safety sake be sure to contact your dealer to verify he has the parts in stock before bringing your unit in for updating. Thanks for your patience while we sorted through this issue.
