My grandmother has been having some trouble with this grass-like weed in her yard. It clumps up and grows very fast. I have spent about 2 hours researching but am still not sure exactly what it is. If anybody has any information, please let me know.

    mow shorter...

    goosegrass, banyard grass, dalias grass....
    Good IPM..
Not sure about NM, but where I live I do this..
Take a weedeater and patrol the yard...you need to do this on a reg basis..only works on small turf.. slit the guys up...they want to grow LONG, but sideways...slit 'em up...close to the crown....
now, you just aerated, so overseed and fert the hell out of it...and bag the rest of the year.....Bag the whole Fall and winter seasons...
Next year it's gone, just hunt it with the weedeater each time you mow, and slit 'em up...

I didnt know damaging it like that would kill it over time, good to know. Do you think that would work on clumps of quackgrass? (I always forget which one is in clumps quack or crab but i think its quack)
