I have been using Lesco for my grass seed and I think they have a very good product.

While at a turf show this year I ran into a Co called Jacklin Seeds.

They seem to really know their stuff, they have their own plant breeders and SAY they have a superior product.

Do any of you guys use Jacklin or know anything about them.

They are about $.15 higher then Lesco...but tell me that their cultivars are much newer and have more drought/disease tolerance (especailly on KYB).

Can anyone vouch for this? I am really wanting to give them a try, but it will cost me more and I am happy where I am at!

Their "Revenge GLX" by Jacklin/Simplot tied for second place out of about 120 ryegrass types. Similar result in Pennsylvania. This is according to the 2007 NTEP test results. I think you should--take a look at the tests for your area and try to stay in the varieties in the top 10 percent. The best varieties may have already been sold out to big buyers and football field groundskeepers.

The GLX probably means Gray Leaf Spot Resistant. But you also want dark green, good mowability, and resistance to red thread if you can get it.
