Look for help identify this in my new lawn. I am thinking it’s crab grass since it has a purple base/root. I could be wrong though. I used Lesco Premium Athletic Turf Blend seed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Or ...likely...annual rye grass. Red color near the base and yellowish color.
The older, cheaper cultivars are light or yellow-green with wider blades.
With luck--it will not survive the winter.
