Climate Adaption: Warm Season
Strengths: Low Maintenance. Extensive Root System Valued for erosion control and drought tolerance. Moderately agressive.

Shade Tolerance: Fair to pretty good.
Water Needs: God drought reistiance, but preforms best where rain is plentiful and evenly dstributed throughout the season.
Fertilizer Needs: Low. Approx 4 lbs. of Nitrogen per 1Ksq. ft. per year.

Shade Tolerance: Somewhat tolerant, yet performs best in full sun.
Water Needs: VERY HIGH. Poor drought tolerance.
Fertilizer Needs: Medium to high. Requires 6-10 lbs. of Nitrogen per 1K sq. ft. oer year for best quality.

Shade Tolerance: Higher fertilizer needs and higher rate of thatch build-up.
Water Needs: More drought sensitive than common kentucky bluegrass.
Fertilizer Needs: Medium to high. about 4-8 lbs. of Nitrogen per 1K sq. ft. per year. Some will do well with as litle as 1-2 lbs if established in rich soil.
Wearibility: Better than common kentucky bluegrass.
Mowing Height: just under the height of common kentucky bluegrass. But for the most part, the same.
Best Adapted: Same as common kentucky bluegrass.

It takes about 15 minutes to post one post (becasue I am copying it out of a book). Also its an older book, so I have to scan the photos, crop them, adjust brightness, gamma, hue, contrast, etc. and then resize the image. It will take awhile to do this, but I'm sure it will help when the other guys on LawnSite refer to a type of grass and you want to know what it looks like. I think I might add the link to my sig. line for faster access too.

And here I thought that was your awesome photography!

You might want to at least give credit to the book/author/photographer. To say nothing about requesting permission....

Climate Adaption: Warm Season
Strengths: Dichondra isn't a grass, its a broadleaf plant. It makes for a lush, green, dense carpet when maintained properly. Needs less mowing than most grasses. Attacked by few diseases. Doesn't really have a bad season.
Weaknesses: Cutworms, snails, flea beetles, and slugs prefer it to grass lawns. Difficult to control weeds once they have invaded.
Shade Tolerance: Pretty good. Better than bluegrass.
Water Needs: High. Shallow root system cannot prolong long drought.
Fertilizer Needs: High. Likes 1/2 to 1 lb. of Nitrogen per 1K per month.
Wearibility: Poor. Used mostly as a decorative grass.
Mowing Height: Mow 2-3 inches in shaded areas/low traffic areas, shorter in high traffic areas/sunny conditions to avoid high weed infestations.
Best Adapted: Likes heat. Not adapted to cool and foggy climates where temperatures drop below 25*F.
