Have an older 725 hopper w/ kohler 25hp gasoline. 800 hours. Recently noticed slight vibration and laboring under grass cutting load. You can tell it starts coming on and need to quickly disengage the pto or the engine will stall.
Sharp blades, everything’s greased... thought the gearbox was worn and replaced it but did not solve the problem. Any thoughts? There’s not much else going on in the drive shaft... two bearings on the shaft and the knuckle joints? Are the vulnerable? Engine seems to run fine when the deck is off.

How often do you grease the pillowblock bearings on your driveshaft(one at front and one at rear) and the deck coupler. These are usually the areas that cause a lot of the vibration issues?
