Does anyone know anything about the Kuboto GAS engine Grasshopper uses? The Diesel is well known and some units have a Kohler. I haven't heard any reports on the gas version though.

fantastic, same block as the diesels but with less compression will last 6000 hr and runs strong.

I've got 2 of them . They'll probably outlast the rest of the mower!

It is a good engine. However, Grasshopper now also has some models available with the Kohler 25hp liquid-cooled engine. It is supposed to be a good engine, and I believe it is a little cheaper to buy.

This is correct. The motors should outlast the mowers.
