I found a 2001 928D Grasshopper 2000hrs 61" deck the asking price is $5500.00 it appears to be in good shape. Do you think this is a fair price?

me personally would not touch it, too many hours and money for a five year old machine.

Sounds maybe $1,000 or so high really... There's prolly another 2K hours in that engine, at least... That's a beast of an engine for just the 61". Problem is that at 2,000 hours there's likely to be a LOT of other components wearing out that will need replaced. Just guessing, I'd say it's a $13,000 machine new.

Not a bad price, if it was well maintained. That Kubota engine should be good for 6000 hours. The hydros should go 3000 - 4000 with proper maint. If you know the history and how it was maintained, I would probably buy it at that price. If you have no history or maint. records, then drop the price $1000.00 and you are in the ballpark.
