I've looked at several weed id sites, but cannot be certain what this is.

It is growing in a fescue/rye stand, and stays green all year. The color always seems to be a very light green. Very ugly indeed.

Does it have nodes that root into the ground where they touch the soil or does it lay flat?

The plant seems to have a root system at the center and then it spreads from there. The nodes don't seem to touch the ground.

I was reading through some old threads today and noticed this. I have this grass in lots of my mowing accounts. Some of the homeowners are saying that it is St. Augustine, but it doesn't like the same grass that other people have that I know for sure is St. Augustine.

This turned out to be goosegrass.
