As you all know I have narrowed my search down to the 2002 gravely hydro 36" walk behind and the exmark tthp 2002 with ecs. My question is how does the new 2002 pistol grips feel. I have seen the pro 150 2000 version and it seems like the pistol grips would get very tough to use (hard on the forearms). However, I do like the double kit and the new striping kit on the new 2002 gravely's. So tell me (guys who have demoed the new gravely's) how do the 2002 gravely pistol grips feel. I like the exmark but have heard the tthp does not do very well in thick fescue grass, I believe the new gravely with the double blades will do the trick on this. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

You can put doubles on the Exmark as well. The bracket for doubles on the Gravely just ensures it complies with safety standards. The removable front baffles on the Gravely should make it better for discharging thick turf than the Exmark but if your getting heavy growth on thick turf I'd go with the Toro SFS.

Caseys right. You can put doubles on any comm'l mower. Exmark even had them once. I don't know where or why you heard the exmark doesn't do very well in thich fescue. It does awesome.

I have made the statement myself before the mulch kit sometimes doesn't do as good on fescue. But if you side discharging its great.

Go demo both. Barry did a lot of work to improve Gravely's w/b's. They should be some really nice machines.

In 6" Ky blue the 1752TTHP clumped when cutting to 3.0".

The new WB from Gravely does not do this. We sprinkled our new deck with anti-clumping pixie dust and it has yet to have clumping issues.

This was in morning dew conditions with single blades. Add doubles and nothing else out there will touch it. At least for this year.

To find this out you will need to demo the unit.

try finding a demo of any type of wb in my area is like finding a needle in a hay stack, very tough to come by. The comments I get are, "once you use them they become a used unit." Any response to the pistol grip for one's that have used them?

When is a logical time to demo one.

Let me know, I can possibly make it happen.
