I have been asked at several occasions whether or not to mulch within areas that are intended to be covered by ground cover such as jasmine, dwarf liriope, or vinca major. If the ground cover is thin and needs to spread more, do I still put mulch in between the plants?

I do, and then put a good plant fertilizer on them also. The mulch will cover the bare areas and it will look good until the ground cover grows there.

We always do. The best that we can.
