Hello - I have a 123-3 Kubota excavator, my only complaint is about the bucket! After a little over 500 hrs, the pins that hold the teeth on the bucket dont hold them on, lol! The dealer told me to use nuts and bolts, but then it becomes a hassle to change/replace the teeth. I have been wondering/looking at replacing the teeth and shanks with "Komatsu" styled teeth - teeth/shanks that have the pin down through as apposed to the way it is now. Anyone else do this? Thanks - Cook

How is the tooth shanks do the teeth fit tight over the shank ?

If they don't you will have to have the shanks welded up or have them replaced.

Even if you bolt the teeth if they are not tight they will end up sheering the bolts off.

Teeth that require shanks and retainer pins for mini buckets are a PITA for sure. Don't know why, you'd think they'd be easier because they're smaller but that really isn't the case. I helped our field mechanic change teeth on our 6 yard bucket for our PC600 and it took us less time to swap them out than it did for the same number of teeth on a mini bucket, Go for the bolt on teeth, there is no advantage to shanks with minis.

Wow.......I have just the opposite problem. The bucket teeth on my KX91-3 (same buckets as the 121) are rolled pins and they are a pain in the a$$ to drive out. This is for the Werk Brau buckets used in Kubota's standard quick-tach buckets.
