I have 3 quotes in hand for the following equip:

    1 - Wildcat 26/52 LC
    1 - Scag 36" fixed/gear 16hp kawi advantage deck
    1 - 21" Toro 6hp kawi
    2 - SRM260
    1 - PAS260
    2 - BR380

    The quotes are $14,247..$14,293..$14,315.

All long standing reputable service depts, relatively same distance away.

My question is, are these prices good enough to grab the low bidder and go?
or will playing the haggle game save me enough to make it worth it?

Rather difficult to ascertain lumped together like that, and I wouldn't have a clue anyhow, as I haven't priced any of those items, but am going to purchase a new SRM260 this fall, I think, and use the one I am now using as a backup.

But, the difference in price is only $68 between the high and low bid, or less than one half percent. I know everyone wants to get the best deal, but.............

I'd go with whichever of the three dealers you are most comfortable with, and forget the few bucks you might save. I mean, we only talking the price of a couple of small lawns here.

Being all that equal, comes down to the dealer you're most comfortable with

dropping 14k on equipment and your sweating a $68 dollar difference.....you probably wasted more then that in gas/time shopping all 3 dealers....

I think the guy's asking if he should attempt to haggle down the current prices, not asking if he should go with the "lowest bidder".

It looks like all the dealers know where the "sweet spot" is.
And from what I can tell, it seems like it's a dealers market right now....
with the wet season were having.(40 inches so far !!!)..
mow services are haulin a$$ to stay caught up !!

I'll go with the one closest to my house, service to date has been good,
with no reason to think that would change "post-sale".

We might push our launch date to Oct 1st,
I might re-bid later to see if that helps.

By the way, this site is great,
once you sift through all the BS and bravado.

    Thanks again
