    There are machine-screw standards that match other sprinkler stuff. Residential brass (1/2-inch) impact-head nozzles came in two nozzle thread patterns, and the coarser of the two thread patterns matched a 3/8 x 24 UNF screw. The finer-thread nozzles were a match for 1/8 x 27 pipe threads, and maybe that's where 27 tpi stuff came from.

    Your 'standard' Richdel/Irritrol solenoid has 3/4 x 20 threads, and that matches an extra-fine thread (UNEF) standard.

    I went to a job site today to create an as built for a new install. Take a look at this BF (put in two valve boxes)...There's no way the #2 SOV is going to work.

    ...and I bet the installer was Texas-licensed, too :p

    Yep and he was "let go" during this install. Also, there is no isolation valve between the meter and the BF (a Texas requirement).

    More likely he was educated on the Sprinkler Warehouse forum.

    The DCV is also set on its side.
    Seems like I'm fixing hack stuff like this almost every week now.

    What's wrong with duh Sprinkler Warehouse forum? That's where I got my Rainbird "I wanna be a irrigation technician" computer CD ;)
