hand held PH testers

I own a Kelway and have found it to be accurate compared to soil tests I have taken to Lesco. The testers are about $100 and have been a real timesaver for me.

Check with your local coopertive extension. Here in PA you can go to them and for $5 (I think, but no more than 10) they will give a kit to send in with your sample to PSU. In a couple weeks you get back a pretty detailed report which tells you everything you need to know, including how much fertilizer, lime etc. you need to put down to get it right.
