Has anyone regretted buying a mini skid steer?

I had a boxer 427 for the last two years and I really loved it but didnt like the lift capacity. I bought a Ditch Witch SK800 this fall and absolutely love it. I got a 52" bucket with it and it makes a huge difference if you are trying to move a lot of dirt.

I am getting demos in the next few days. Bobcat mt55 is $30,000, ditch with sk755 is $39,000. Didn't see a price for mt85 yet but I don't think they have one I can demo yet. extra 9k doesn't bother me if it feels right

They don’t make sk755 anymore n the states. How far are you from the border? Those prices are crazy high

I'm about a 2 hours from port Angeles or Seattle by boat. With the exchange rate we are already 25% more, prices seem to be about 35% higher though. If I have to pay duty and a day of travel/ferry fees I think it would be a wash. 10% difference would save me around 3k I'm guessing.

Is the 755 an older model?

I was just about to say for that price you can easily get the sk1050 here. I just bought the sk1550 for a few thousand more. Like another poster said, those prices are crazy high. I guess that is the way it is sometimes.

Everything is expensive up here. Gas is $6/cad a gallon, which is I guess would be $4,60 usd. Cigarettes $14 a pack. A 2 bedroom 1 bath house in need of major renos on a 6000 sq foot lot - $400,000. I can barely get $60/hr for general landscaping labour and the majority of guys here are like $40-45/hr.

I have an Ditch Witch SK 500 that I have had for a few years I am selling and going to upgrade it to either a DW SK 850 SK 1500 or the vermeer. We also currently have a Ditch Witch 755 which we absolutely love. We just finished doing a demo on the vermeer currently have the 2 ditch witch's setting in the shop. I am leaning towards the SK 850 for a couple reasons the price is really pretty good compared to vermeer and it will still get you in a 36" gate where the SK 1500 will not although I would really like to have the 1500 it is a great machine. I would say you can't go wrong with any of them but would be my last choice. Good luck with your purchase you won't regret buying one and then you will wonder why you didn't buy one sooner.

1.60 per liter for gas here on the West Coast and 1 bedroom condo for $200,000. Bought mine for 142,000 last year and I'll sell for 220,00 in 3 years. Prices for large excavators are worse, Doosan 235 fully equipped for 225,00 but a Cat 322 goes for $285,000.
But we have a drama teacher in charge instead of a celebrity business class CEO.

What do you think about mini skids? Have you ever used one? I don't know why I don't see any landscapers ever using them here, that's kinda why I was second guessing.
