health insurance

    what could i expect to pay for a family of 4, for medical coverage? also, has anyone had cobra, and how much was that. thanx

    My COBRA is a little over $500/month for a family of 4. Runs out in about 10 months, though.

    Celtic is a large company that wants to become an even bigger player like BC/BS, their rates are very competitive but I'm not sure about your area.

    Bobby....cobra is good for 18 months. Mine just ran out on me in July.

    COBRA is for current employees leaving employment with existing coverage.

    IF you are not currently covered there is no COBRA to deal with. It is only a law that says employee can maintain the employers insurance at their own cost.

    Health Insurance Premiums ALL depend on what co-pays you choose, deductibles, etc. or if you go HMO style... Can range from 200-1200/mo for the same family depending on the options.

    green, i understand cobra is for employees who are covered, then leave. i am currently employed, and have coverage, i fear my employment status may change though, very shortly.
