Hello All,

Just wondering what everyone else thinks of Lawn Monkey Software's Keep Me Current Plan?

When we purchased the program, we were told we could use it and if we needed support then it was $75 an hour. Now they tell us (2 years later) it will cost us $300 a year plus $75 an hour otherwise we have NO tech support!

How can the game rules change after this program was purchased? This is 25% of the original purchase price. If I wanted a lease, I would have leased it but we did not want that recurring expense so that was the whole reason of a purchase.


What does everyone else that uses LM think about the Keep Me HOSTAGE plan?

I'm on Simply cause the accountant uses it so it talks to her comp easier,Bit of a work out to set up but We are happy with it now. I remember seing that lawn monkey whenI was searching years ago.Seemed to me it was selling itself with fancy lawncare icons and such. my free advice

I'am none to pleased with their policy and I have voiced my opinion to them concerning this new policy. Luckily, I have had no real issuses with LM2002, real easy to use.

I'm on the fence right now with what software I should buy....this is not good for the lawn monkey folks...
 
I demoed all of the programs out there. In the end i went with quickbooks. It takes a long time to set it up at first, but its easy after that. And i have not found and bugs in the quickbooks program. A few of the other programs i tried were bugged up bad.

Its a scheduling software for the green industry.

I really like the program and started to find my way around well. I only used it last year. I am none to happy about their new plan though. I doubt I go with it again next year. I will probably use it until I just can't anymore and then re-purchase it or consider another.

You get x amount of support time every year with each renewal . After that you pay.

I have had L/M for a few years, only use a small portation of the program. I asked for certain changes a couple years ago that went on deaf ears. Most of the up-dates do nothing for me as far as I can tell.I was going to change this year also but haven't found another program that was much different. I'll keep looking for a basic-bare bones program, there must be one out there.

I was a little apprehensive at first but this is how software companies stay in business. My wife worked for a company that sold supply chain management software to companies like philip morris, coca-cola, nike etc. Those companies paid around $20k per year for updates and support.

QB is no different. You buy the program, you have to pay for payroll updates because you can't update all numbers on your own. Then they constantly try to sell you their other services.
