Ok ... OK, I know its a loosing battle, but I have a small area fenced off for my 2 Labs. Obviously they are a bit rough on the turf in that area and quite frequently there is more mud in the yard than grass. Can anyone suggest some grass or grass like plant that will survive the wrath of my dogs. I live in Cleveland, Ohio.

i dont have an answer for that, but you could do like was done at my friends house. made 2 fenced off areas, one for nice grass, and one area for dogs. the area for dogs is completely mulched, and has no grass. still a tendency to track some dirt, but not as muddy either.

that is the only viable alternative i can think of, other than gravel. but, i dont think your dog would enjoy rolling around, and running through gravel.
