Best to look at your elevation plans instead of empty (almost) land. Or wait until the rough framing is done and roof is on, it will start talking to you at that point.

Well they are doing framing today and trusses on Tuesday. We will be there shortly. I got the wild idea of doing some dry wall retaining wall rock in some areas. Maybe a two tier patio ? This is what happens is I get all these ideas and then they all change and I just want everything to flow.

There will be about 15 Trees planted in the back yard

Write it all down, all the hardscape ideas, all the garden/planting ideas. Start writing down your favorite plants/trees. Go look at them (preferably mature), do they fit with the color/style of the rock wall you are thinking of? More importantly with the design of the house? Does the rock wall fit with the design of the house? Start at foundation planting first and then move away. Trust yourself and don't worry about things changing, landscaping is forever changing, that's the beauty of it. Congrats on the new house, building is such a tough thing to do and so rewarding!
