I currently mow a handful of yards on the side. I currently have a 61" turf tiger, 25hp New Holland compact tractor, stihl fs80 trimmer, sthil bg85 handheld blower, sthil hedge trimmer, and a 21" craftsman push mower. My goal is to start doing lawn care and landscape full time. If you had $50,000 to spend what would you buy and why? skidsteer? bed edger? walkbehind?

1 ton dump truck with a spreader, V plow, leaf loader and an 18 foot enclosed trailer. I don't really think you'd need all the plow and spreader stuff in your part of the country though.

But You should definitally save the money, if you have it, because when you go full time things you need to buy will come up very fast. Don't buy to get into it, buy when you find a definite demand for the service that the piece of equipment can provide.

Rent skid steers. not worth the $$ especially if you have a tractor.

Sounds like you have enough mowers for what you are doing.

Why not just save the money?

I have alot of suggestions, but without knowing your who can tell?

Leaf vac, leaf plow, vaccum for the turf tiger, lawn striping kit for the tiger. Hydro seeder?

I'll give you my address and you just send it to me, it's spent.

    Now that's good advice.

if i had 50 000 to spend going into it full time i would buy a 03 f450 boss v plow, sander, leaf loader, vac for the turf tiger, scag 52" walk behind, back pack blower, and a trailer (probably open because of what you have... tractor and such)

    but thats just me

I would buy a bed edger, a tiller, and I would target lot sof advertisement for small jobs. I wouldnt worry about the truck untill I built someone of a good reputation for good flowerbed work.

take 15k and sink it into advertising, another 10k set aside for equipment your gonna need when that advertising starts to pay off and put the other 25k in the company bank account
