I have a Gravely Promaster 200 Mower with a Kawasaki 17hp The thing will start up but dies shortly after. I have placed a new carb on it and same thing...

If I hold the choke closed it wil stay running a bit longer but the engine idles down and up while doing so then...dies... I cant figure it out.

It has never overheated and I have not opened the crank case or dissembled the any engine components.

RCROWETZ, I'm no mechanic, but if you need any parts for your machine, give me a call and I'd be happy to look anything up for you.

Check you fuel flow....remove the line at the carb and see if you can fill up your empty gas can.

Check your spark when it shuts off.

Its either fuel or spark...no need to look insde the cranlcase.
