hi new to the site but hope 2 help and get help! i just put in a new full/compleet 20hp kohler motor in a walker mower and it will not stay running! it runs 4 around 4 seconds then shuts down. i have done the folowing.

`made shur spark stays till it cuts out
`has fule pumping in to carb till it cuts out
`allso fule is in the carb bowel and flote moves freely

Please any help will be grate! thanks

it has fresh gas, and i have made shure the fule is meating the carb, plus it is filling the bowle. so pasage is clear to the carb. and fuel pump is working thanks! for the info any help is good help

IF NEW OUT OF THE BOX THEN DID YOU REMEMBER TO FILL IT WITH OIL ?????? Engines are shipped dry and there should have been a brightly colored warning sheet reminding you to fill with oil.The low oil shut-off could be killing it.

There should be a small solenoid on the carb input. Take a look at it to make sure its open. If not your shutting the gas off to the carb.

See if its always 4 min that it runs. If so, thats how long it takes to go thru the gas in the bowl.

yes i did fill it with the 2 quarts of 30w oil that was recomended and to make the others point clear i did mean it will start and run for around 4seconds. and i will listen for the click and check for power on that solenoid on the carb thanks guys 4 all the feed back! i get back 2 u all 2 Morrow

thanks 4 all the help full hints guys i found a pinched wire in the wire loom!! haha a little solder and heat shrink and it runs like a dream!! love the kohler engines but I'm getting sick of the Walkers mowers there in.
