i was wondering if any body could tell me if this is a good deal. and possibly how much longer this mower will last. it is an Exmark 60'' laser with the 25 hp kohler engine it has about 2500 hours on it and has been well maintained, my buddy said he will sell it to me for $3,000, is this a fair price ? i have used the machine before and it cuts well and runs well. he replaced a clutch and the steering dampers last season and it has newer rear tires. any info will help. thanks guys. bill

2500hours is alot, i would even go one to say that the engines days are numbered, or it's running on borrowed time. $3000 is too much b/c you'll be buying a new short block soon enough. I'd tell him $1500. Not to mention every thing else has 2500hrs. on it.

I think the rule of thumb on a gas burner is 100 hrs. per hp. (thats costing one out)

Im sure it runs good but figure an engine expense before long. 3000.00 minus the cost of a new engine and labor to put it in and down time... is what I would offer. So what Jpocket said or less.

At 2500 hrs, even with excellent maintenance, the machine is geetting to the point that it's on borrowed time. I'd figure engine replacement and possibly hydro problems in the NEAR future.

Wow! I have one with 60 hours,27 kohler, with the 2400 dollar dump from the seat bagging system and could not even get 6000 for it!! I actually had some on here to offer me 1500 to 2000 for it!! LCOs on here are cheaper than my customers!!:D :D Seriously, with that many hours I would not offer anywhere near 3000, maybe half if that much (see, Im cheap to)!

That machine will be underpowered. Plus, 2500 hours is alot, expect to replace engine, preferably upgrade to a 27hp engine. Try to get it down to ~2000 and it is a done deal.
