Any body ever use augers for planting hedges. I have to plant 120 ficus on saturday, the hedges are in 3 gal pots! Any body know the best tool besides a shovel? I will have 1 or 2 helpers with me! Their going to be planted in some rocky soil, alot cap rock!

Go rent a two man gas auger with a 12" pengo tip bit. Layout your holes, two men drill and keep moving, and the third guy does the planting. As they are drilling, you can set the pots out in a row by the holes, removing them from the container previously, to make the install go faster. We have a two man auger that works great for doing just that type of installation.

What kind of ficus is used in Florida for hedges, Ficus Benjamina?

Thanks, I dont know the specific type of ficus that it is. But it is the most common, its the one with the dark green leaves, not the lighter, ghost looking ficus?
