i have to put in about 3 yards of like 1inch stone and around 120ft of metal edging i was thinking of $320 that was including a bobcat rental to move the stone around.

Materials and rental would bring me close to that figure. I don't know what you can rent the bobcat for or how much your materials are going to cost, but you're quite a bit lower than I would be.

a bobcat is about $270/day around here i believe. I couldn't touch that job for that price.

edit: also, huffin 3 yards isn't too bad with 2-3 guys shoveling either. i've done as much as 6 by hand into the base of a pool, that was't the most fun i've ever had.....
