Mow low to get close to soil, dethatch for even better seed to soil contact, aerate pref. two passes in a crossing direction, fert. then seed. Aerate or dethatch, it dosent really matter which you do first, unless your topdressing. Any questions PM me. Good luck!

Forgot that part, Fall is the ideal time to seed, with spring being the second best. You can get great results if you make sure to keep watering throughout the summer, and even better results with a fall overseed. Anybody can sow seed, its all in how you prep the lawn and follow up care of the new lawn.
