Well after building and selling a mildly successful business from 2005-2010, and then having the pleasure of working for Ideal Landscaping for 2.5 years...I have made the tough decision to start my own business yet again.

I am in the middle of an acquisition of another company which should give me a nice platform to start from. I am not sure if I am going to keep their name (they have been around for 14 years so I probably will for a while at least). Here is where I am as of right now.

(1) 2013 GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax Diesel
(2) 2013 Freedom 7.5x16 Enclosed trailers (one of which is my retired race trailer from last season)

And a bunch of various Stihl, Echo, Little Wonder handheld equipment and parking lot blowers I have left over from my last business.

Obviously I have hopes of growing the business, and feel like I have some pretty good experience under my belt. Here is a picture of one of my trailers with some of the racks I have built. Next are the trimmer racks, then to fill it with new equipment for 2014.

Hopefully this thread will eventually be as informative and helpful, both for myself and everyone else as the Ideal thread was. Here's to a successful 2014 everyone!

man, lot of pages here, not sure if you answered this, but how do you like the 36" walk? and how about the Z's? we just ordered a Z to see if we like it, if we do we will order a second

by the way, love the operation, love that john deere green!
36" walk was sold...didnt get used much since buying 30" turf masters. The Z's are great...GET A SUSPENSION SEAT!

How long have you had these blowers mounted this way? Curious if the 430 frames will take the shock? I like this idea but I am going to go vertical and mount 3 of them. We have fabricated metal shelves but hard to get em in and out.

One will essentially sit on the floor with wood barrier to
Keep mowers from running into it.

over a year now. Blowers handle it just fine. The only thing that broke on one of the blowers was the clip where the ring attaches on the shoulder strap. Screw & a washer through the strap into the frame and we were back in business. (That breaking had nothing to do with mount)

I really need to update this...

Cliff notes version: 3 trucks out now. We exploded in March/April. We have reached our number from last year already (enhancements included) we are projected to triple it this year. It's been crazy and we've already outgrown our office. The hunt is on for a larger shop. I'll try and get on here soon.

Hope everyone is having a good season so far!

First time posting a picture via mobile site...not sure if it'll work.

This is our new location. About 1.5 mile from downtown Raleigh. Restored 1950's home converted to office space. 5 offices, 2 bathrooms, reception and conference room. Out back there is a 1000sqft shop, paved drive with 10 parking spaces and 1.25 acres to grow into.

As far as work load goes, we decided early on this year we wanted to go 100% commercial. We dropped our residential customers as the commercial/HOA work started coming in.

Currently we service about 800 townhomes, 3 hospitals, 2 Class A office complexes, 6 HOA common areas and about 15 acres of industrial.

We are running a 4 man crew on a 2016 F250 crew cab pulling an 8.5x20 enclosed trailer and a 2 man crew on a 2500hd crew cab pulling a 7x18 open trailer.

Looking to pick up a NPR for the 2 man crew.

We sold the 6.0L F550, miles were getting up there so I just knew it was going to grenade on me before long. Also sold the 1999 crew cab 2500hd. She was starting to give us trouble but we ran the piss out of her all summer.

So we are down to 4 trucks now but hopefully adding that NPR by end of 1st quarter 2017.

I'll try and get pictures of the current fleet and some of our big properties soon.
