Jim,
That is a really good idea you have there. Does anyone know if there is a list available that shows the location (City and/or State) of the members of this site. My only problem would be trying to remember where members are located if there is no list available.

I think its a great idea! However, what person in their right mind would want to move to south Georgia? Bad economy, low paying jobs:D

If you guys wanna do that (great idea) talk to the forum admin. (who'll probably read this anyway) to set up another forum section for referrals. Then you can announce there that you have a customer moving to "so and so", and folks from that area can contact you via PM to get in contact with the customer. You can simply post a message to your thread once the referral is made saying "the account is referred" so you won't keep getting PMs after you've unloaded the account on some sucker (I mean lucky LCO.)

Excellent idea. I have several clients right now that are trying to sell their NC homes and move elsewhere. I know one of them will be relocating to Timonium, MD. Anybody out there provide service in that area? I'll check with my other clients & find out where they're heading. The ones moving to MD, they pay premium rates too - $65 for 45 min. mow.
my granda mom use to live there

Jim as usual, good idea.

But we do need some type of area map or method of farming out the referrals that isn't so hit or miss as happening to notice a thread.

Perhaps one of the moderators can set up a forum where we post and the computer spits out LCO's within 10 miles or something and automatically PM's the locals.

the forum could be titled as "Referrals" then we post our customers moving to
an area, and that thread can be titled. example client moving to cloumbia S.C
then list other info about that client such as good, bad, or whatever !!

just a thought

This happens to me several times per year - I lose a client because they move away to some other state. When it happens, I thank them for the years of being a great customer and wish them well. But I am missing a big opportunity - for one of you!

I SHOULD be saying, "Where are you moving to? OH! North Carolina? Well, I hope you enjoy your new home there. Let me know if you need a referral for a LCO over there. I know several in that area." And then refer this client (who has been a great client, otherwise I wouldn't have kept them for so long) to one of you guys in that area!

So keep that in mind when you lose a client due to an out-of-state move. Let's help one another.
Hey Jim! Did Ms. Crawford (my old customer in Sandy that moved to SW Portland) ever hit you up for service?

Hey Steve - I am in Yuba City and only do installs and service calls. I get regular requests for maintenance that we do not offer. I am always looking for a good quality maintenance provider to refer people to. If you do good work and are not just a mow blow and go company, I would be willing to send you referrals. PM me if you want to hook up and show me some of your work and see if we can help each other.
