Hey guys, I am interested in hearing stories from old timers on what mowing prices use to be back about 10/20/30 years ago based on your average 1/4 - 1/3 - 1/2 - 3/4 and 1 acre properties.

I've been trying to find this information on old threads, but can't really put the puzzle together completely. Thought maybe there's some old timers on here that remembers the old prices and how much inflation came in to play to recent days.

Hopefully a fun topic for us all!

Well when I talked to an older guy not long ago he said when he started in the early 80's average cut price was around $10-$15 now most are in the $30-$45 range with plenty of lowballs still down around $15-$20.

Lots of threads say prices haven’t changed that much over last 30 years. The equipment changed and made you more productive. More work done in the same time equals more cash. I foresee some price hikes in the near future. Everything is going up in price, so will services. I have been pricing slightly higher on estimates and still landing the accounts and projects.

Early 90's I was getting $20 for average suburban lawn weekly. Now with the EOW phenomenon were getting $40 . Not making anymore $$ per account but less hours of mowing and travel time.

    I’m thinking 30% more now.

Every other week, twice a month , many refer to as bi weekly but customers think that's twice a week. So I stick with EOW
