Anyone know anything about giant hogweed? We have some around here and I need some better info on getting rid of it. Most websites say it needs to be sprayed when it is actively growing. It has flowered and is now dying back, it will be easy to kill the new growth but what about the roots? Most of it is growing near the river's edge and I'm not too sure about spraying there. I already turned down one job and the guy hired someone else to do it. They cut the seed heads off and threw them into the slow moving river. Most of the seed heads are caught in the grass along the river. I'm seriuosly thinking of turning the guy in, they are classified as a noxious weed here. Some of the plants are 15' high and have a 3" stalk. My wife is extremely allergic to poisin ivy so she will be staying far away from it. I plan on wearing a tyvek suit then burning it when I'm done. The sprayer will be getting a good soaking with soap and water. I plan on contacting all property owners and doing them all at the same time a a one shot deal.
