Homemade light bar saves big bucks

    One ofmy guys came up with the idea to mount an old handle from a push mower to the top of the tool box on the truck, then put the strobe beacon on the top of the handle. It works great! In addition to being stable, it also folds down when I need clearance.

    sounds like a good idea, any pictures? i suppose u could mount multiple ones on it??? how did u go about mounting it?

    no pics - he took the rivets off the mower deck and then secured the mounting plate to the tool box with bolts and nuts. The handle then fit right onto the mounting plate just like on the mower deck, except that it's standing up straight and is ready to fold down when I need clearance.
