Was looking at a husky thread. 3rd choice since I have been looking for a new trimer all year. I love my FS85s but looking at a diferent route.
Does any one use the honda line of trimmers? No oil mixture. straight unleaded gas.

Please let me know pros and cons. I have seen them, heard them, but you know how sales men are. Want to actually see what they do in the real world.
Thanks in advance.

Have been using the new Honda HHT25S for a couple of weeks now. I like it a lot. Very quiet, powerful, clean smoke. I tried one of the older UMK models last year and did not like it - seemed heavy and underpowered. If you get a Honda, just make sure it is one of the new ones, many dealers are still selling the old UMK series. The new HHTs are a big improvement. These are super-duper machines!

THank you yard monkey,
They are pawning off the Umk models.
Was waiting till they got the 31's in to make final decision. It sure would be nice to only have to carry one type of gas for everything. I was contemplating hanging the 85,s n the wall for backup and purchasing the edger and trimmer. Would like to hear from others in meantime. thank you.

you may also want to wait, word is Honda may make a attachment series available with their trimmers.

They make a nice trimmer, not sure how long it will last compared to other models, but it is quiet and the HHT models are lighter and have a lifetime shaft warranty.

I've used both the Honda trimmer and the Honda stick edger since the beginning of the season. Both are extremely smooth, quiet, and powerful.

But they are heavy.

Can't get away from oil-gas mix altogether, though. I'm not aware of a blower that uses a 4 stroke engine. Is there one?

I have a honda and a husky, I like the honda for power and no mixing. But its way too heavy. I do cemetaries and large town houe complex. The weight is too much. I prefer the lighter husky.
If honda knocked off a few pounds it would be better.
