Anyone from Houston out there, I would really appricate it if you could give me some info about the lawn care buisness out there. There is a very good possibilty that I will be moving there this summer instead of where I thought I was going. I need some basic landscaping market info for this year. thank you . I can PM yet, but I would be willing to give out my email. Thanks for your help

I was wondering what your average mowing prices are ?

min charge as well as a rough hourly rate?

    Labor charges per hour?

what type of grasses are there?

How long is the cutting season?

    Hi SouthernYankee,

If you are interested. I was lucky enough to get three different companies to offer their Business Mentoring / Consulting services for Free. We have three spots available for this. If you are interested, send me a PM with your name, company name and email address.

One of the mentors Is Bill, owner of Fine Lines Lawn.

This offer is open to anyone reading this as well.

Can you imagine what you could learn from Bill? He has won our best lawn and shop challenge.

Gopher, not to deride Bill, I've read an awful lot about him, but the diffeerence between his market, and the Houston residential market is huge.

Southern Yankee, I'll give you some more detail: grass types St. Augustine, Bahaia, Bermuda.

Average price for Resi home in nice sub division $18-25...for about 6-10k sq. ft or less, lots of gates.

Also, unless you plan on mowing lots of commercial, or "estate size" residential( something that's not near as common here as north of the mason dixon ) You'd be better with 21's, Stander's, or real small ZTR's...

One final thing, and not being the least bit deceptive, Houston is a fiercly competitive market.
