    Hi there guys,
I am taking the position of operations manager at a reasonably new lawn care company. I was wondering how the pro (you guys) buy small power tools like string trimmers, edgers, and hedge trimmers. Does anyone have a plan on how long they expect to be able to use a tool. sort of like an obsolescence schedule? I am trying to put together the budget for the next couple of years and need to plan when we will need to buy new trimmers and such. Of course things get stolen and break unexpectedly, but a plan would be nice. Thanks in advance

Depends on how much use you put into the tools and how well you take care of them. Weedwackers get used the most her so it's 2-3 years for them. 3-4 for the edgers, and 5 for hedgers and blowers and chainsaws.
