How big of a bar can you put on a 35.5 cc STIHL MS210C?

    Thanks!

18" for most work, I guess you could go larger and get a skip tooth chain.

You can put as big of a chain on it as you like but personally I'd put on one that fits the bar.

I think the biggest bar they recommend is 16 inches. The bigger the bar the slower it's going to cut.

That's funny...but he had chain edited to say bar now!

Just curious to why longer bar cuts slower? Your not changing sprocket size. To me it seem the chain would be moving same speed across the bar, no matter if it is 16" or 20".

Edit...Just thought abt bar being the whole sprocket & not just the tip of the bar & sprocket on engine. Makes sense being slower considering whole bar as a bigger sprocket.

I think it has a lot to do with the resistance of a longer chain and bar....drag, friction, weight.

I think Stihl has an application chart.
