For example, how do i tell if a lawn needs potassium, nitrogen etc??? How do you know what a lawn needs? i usually just add water and fertilizer, but i want to be a little more scientific. When do you need lime etc.... Thanks

Take a soil sample and take it to Lesco or your local county extension office for testing.
